I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me;
yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy. Alma 29:9

Teaching Institute

Dear Family,

Our car was in the shop getting its bumper fixed from Monday to Thursday, so we rode the bikes... which was horrible because there are so many hills in the town, and it's bad when you haven't rode a bike in months and are so out of shape... and it decides to rain for two days, but we made it work.

For FHE we were at the Beck's house and we played a game called Celestial Pursuit, like Trivial Pursuit but with LDS questions, spiritual, history, scriptures, oh it was pretty hard not gonna lie, but so fun. I just wanted to take all the questions cards home and study them.

We had a awesome meeting with brother Cartier, who is in charge of the seminaries and institutes across the maritimes. He personally sat down with us for like two hours and answered questions we had pertaining to being institute teachers and training us on ways to teach classes, it was the coolest experience.

For district meeting I did a doctrinal discussion with a group of missionaries and I felt like I needed to do it on fasting. And I love doing these things because I feel like I get more out of it than they do by studying and preparing but I think it's like that for most things that take study and preparation. I applied a lot of what I learned from brother Cartier in my discussion and I feel like it went so much better than it might have.

We had dinner with the Harlows on Wednesday and we walked in the rain to their house and were just completely soaked, we knocked on the door and her reaction when she saw us was so funny. She made us take what was wet off and we wore some of brother Harlows clothes while she dried ours during dinner, gotta love the members and all that they do for the missionaries.

In celebration of my year mark Elder Quinton bought me lunch and I also burned a white shirt, traditions.

The struggle right now is that we don't have any investigators so it's finding, finding, finding. But you always feel good doing it, even with some of the crazy experiences you have.

I love the Lord, I love this work, the time is going by pretty quick.

Love You!

Love Elder Ray

HUMP DAY!  I am over the hump.

Result of walking in a rainstorm. Did you know that it rains sideways here?

I wonder how many pictures I can get of Elder Quinton without him noticing.
